Celebrating life through the love for music, arts, people, culture & weirdness. Hunkering is a melodic house & techno brand that organizes events all over Amsterdam. Due to a faulty start just before the pandemic in 2020 hit, the brand got a facelift at the beginning of 2021. Their first event was scheduled for the tenth of July that year: Hunkering In Concert.
I was brought into the marketing team as a content creator & community manager, right at the start of this new campaign. Later – as the team expanded – I would focus more on designs and animations.

Static content
The overall design was outsourced to the great designers at DEDLET, but – aside from a very loose brand guide – a lot of assets still needed to be created. Most of that happened on the fly as we figured out what the Hunkering brand truly was. One of those was creating a template for the artist announcements. Build in Figma, I created a flexible template that could be used for different events throughout the year.

Video content
Within the same boundaries and time restrictions as mentioned above, I also animated certain social media posts to gain more attention of our followers. These became more frequent as the year went along, simply because these posts would attract way more viewers than static content.

Visualizers
Alongside more practical things like the above, I also got the chance to enrich the brand with visuals throughout the social media feed. These 30-second clips, known within the team as “dancy H-videos” were a fun intermezzo from time to time. In total I made around twenty, here are some examples.
